How Haloween Started

Some people believe that Halloween is the devil’s birthday but it’s not. Halloween started when the Ancient Celts considered October 1st the end of the year and also the only time of the year where the spiritual ghosts could come back and visit their living relatives. So they put out food and drink for the dead and left their windows, doors, and gates unlocked so the spirits could come. Some believed that if they left treats on their front porch, the spirits would not harm them. Later on as Christianity spread, November 1st became know as All Saints’ Day and the day before that is known as Halloween. And that is why we dress up and people hand out “treats”. If you don’t believe this, checkout the website http://www.faqkids.com/idx/24/121/Holidays/article/How_did_Halloween_start.html.
